Purchased 5 Perfecta Trifecta Butterfly Bushes on 10/30/2019 for the sum of $199.75 with free shipping.
Questioned wheather to ship order then or in the spring. They advised to plant them now as this would help develope a better root system for spring growth. Bad advice as all five plants did not survive a very mild winter in southern Virginia. Contacted them this spring to see about their replacement policy. Was advised their policy was to replace the plants at onehalf the original cost after seeing pictures of the dead plants. Spent about two hours trying to send pictures to their faulty web site and finally gave up and wrote them a letter. They informed me they were currently out of stock but would notify me when they received more. A few days latter I received notification they were back in stock so called to replace them at their half price offer & they gave me a new price of $92.38. I didn't know what the tax would be so asked for the total price before placing this new order. Hear is the big catch they want to charge a $50.00 shipping fee thus making the new cost $142.38 or 71% of the original cost. Even though their current shipping fee is $9.95 on all new orders & free shipping on orders over $139. Needless to say more! Would never order again from this company nor recommend them to anyone. Would rather write off my original cost than give them another dime. Asked to speak to a supervisor who was not available so left message to call me back. Guess what never heard from him. Only a fool would use this company.

I ordered four plants in 5/17/20 to avoid shopping during Covid. It took a week between shipment and arrival about 5/30/20. One of the plants arrived and looked like it had been trying to grow in the dark with long spindly yellow branches and brown dying leaves. I planted all the plants adding miracle grow soil and compost. The sick plant tried to grow some leaves but the spindly stems wilted and the plant just started dying. I contacted the company asking for a replacement on 7/15/20 and Barry said he thought the plant would make it and give it some more time. I contacted him again 8/5/20 once it was completely dead and Barry only offered a 50% credit on that plant and would not offer free shipping to replace it. My 3 other plants are doing fine and this plant was clearly not healthy. This is substandard service. Don't buy plants from this company. It's not worth it.

I ordered four Hummingbird Summersweet plants from this company. When they arrived, two were out of the pots and the plants were damaged. I wrote to the company and the response was "there is some green, so plant them anyway". This was my first and last order with NatureHills Nursey.
Ordered in April 2021 a tree that was "shipping Spring 2021." Spring almost over and still no tree. Made multiple attempts to contact them with no success. They don't even let you call them about existing orders, which screams "scam" to me. They will only give you a real person to talk to if you're looking for help deciding what to order. If course they're more than happy to have their salespeople talk to you so you spend more money with them. The contact forms on their website result in no responses.
Nature Hills Nursery is the worst. The have outstanding reviews on Their website and others that I am sure the pay marketing for; but on sites that are unbiased their reviews are dismal. I purchased 2 sets of trees: dwarf lemon and lil gem magnolias( which by the way looks nothing like the previous reviewer's trees). My lemon trees were in need of revival a week after receipt: leaves were yellowing and trees did not look to be 3-5yrs as sold to be. I transplanted them in a cacti citrus soil and bigger pot; and though they are not out of the woods(it's been 2 1/2months) I am hopeful. My lil Gem Magnolias are a different story: arrived distressed and apparently with brown spot disease or fungi. I have treated with a copper solution and will continue every 7 days or so; but I am removing leaves daily and even had to treat my existing red tip photosias because the fungi had spread( though they are fine now). Due to the lack of concern and response from Nature Hills I filed a complaint with the BBB. This got a very cookie cutter response from Nature Hills and no solution. Be warned: don't believe the reviews every where; especially on their website.
May 25,2021 ordered two 3-5 year old vanilla Strawberry Hydrangeas. Order *******176. 153. 08. Immediately received email confirmation BUT they anticipated a two week delivery date. As i had landscapers scheduled I couldn't wait and within one hour of placing my order I cancelled. This was no easy feat and ended up calling the store directly and spoke with Bill who said he would send an immediate email to the man that prepares the plants for shipment to cancel this order. Which he did while I was on the phone. Looks like this email just alerted the nursery that I had cancelled and the order was immediately sent out that very day. I then received an email that no cancellation as order had already shipped! The order promptly arrived but was obviously hastily wrapped as all the dirt was out of one tree and the plastic pots couldn't be taken out of shipping box as they were stapled to the box! The worst part is that these " 3-5 year old plants" weren't even 12 inches tall! I went to A local nursery and their 3-5 year old vanilla Strawberry hydrangeas were nearly 4 feet tall and same price that I paid for these inferior misrepresented plants. I find this company to be unethical and misrepresenting their plants. I would tell everyone I know to NEVER EVER order from Nursery Hill nursery.
I ordered 2 Little Gem Trees. Arrival of the same was late but they were in great condition. The packaging was awesome. The soil the trees had was very good soil. I order one 2-3 ft. And one 4-5 ft.
Both trees are thriving and flowers have bloomed so beautifully & fragrantly. Pricing is amazing and does not compare to my local nurseries. Nature Hills's customer service was helpful.
I am thrilled with Nature Hill Nursery and will definitely consider buying from them again.
Nature Hills is apparently some kind of scam business pretending to be a nursery. I obviously hadn't seen these reviews when placing an order with them, and the two plants arrived yesterday. A small hydrangea was badly infested with some kind of pest and/or disease, and when I went to bag it, some kind of small beetle jumped (!) off the plant. That alone is a complete disaster, but on top of this, the plant was advertised as quart-sized on sale of $24 plus $10 shipping... it arrived in a container the size of SOLO cup, so pot-bound there was a full mat of roots below the container. No one in their right mind would have touched this plant had they seen it in person, never mind paid some $34 dollars for it.
Want to know what their "customer service" said about this? That the above is totally normal "field damage" and I should go ahead and just plant what they shipped; instead, I've bagged it and will be taking it to our local extension office.
One guess on whether they published my review on their site, so they also only post the reviews that make them look good.
The Nature Hills Nursery of Omaha Nebraska is an online scam company selling wildly over-priced, tiny Trojan Horse plants -- avoid this nursery if you're lucky enough to read this before ordering.
I've filed a complaint with the Omaha BBB and Attorney General and will be pursuing the legality of shipping infested plants across states.
This has to be the worst plant nursery experience of a lifetime. They sell tiny seedlings for the same price as brick and mortar nurseries sell for established potted plants.
Half of my purchase died within the first year. Adding insult to injury, you have to pay for replacements and shipping! DO NOT BUY FROM THEM
I purchased a coral bark Japanese maple tree at the end of October 30, 2020, and it arrived well packaged on November 12th. The tree looked alive, and I planted it two days later. Some of the leaves died in route, but some were still yellow. The root ball was substantial but dry. However, when we order plants and trees through the mail, what do we expect?! That's a gamble we take. So, here's hoping for a vibrant tree! ????
I was so pleased when the tree arived, it looked like it was just duged and sent the day I got it, everything was in perfect shape, green leaves, roots in contanter still moist, I was very happy with it, i'l'll buy from you again, I planted it as soon as I got it, thank you.
The 2 trees I ordered arrived quickly, well packaged, and in terrific condition. I will buy from Nature Hills Nursery again.
Ordered a Hazelnut (Filbert) plant from Nature Hills Nursery. The plant arrived within the time frame promised and was in excellent condition. I, also, have to note that the packaging was incredible. I don't think a nuclear blast could have damaged the contents!
Crepe Myrtle arrived in great shape. Well packaged and with lots of care. Good turn around from order to receipt.

THEIR website looks awesome! Thought I would pay a little more for better product! Boy was I wrong! A company that charges you if the tree/plant dies is crooked! DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS COMPANY

Online comments and I checked with the local nurseries. Just to double check my initial thoughts.
I was looking for a certain shrub that proved to be hard to find locally; and my favorite nursery recommended you.
